3. Dual-Role Clarification
Beverly Lawrence, Ph.D., L.Ac. provides services in both licensed healthcare and educational or consultative capacities. Privacy obligations and legal protections differ depending on the nature of the service provided.
Educational programs, teaching, and consultative services offered outside of a licensed healthcare context (including courses, content, and programs delivered through other platforms) are not medical care and are not subject to HIPAA.
When licensed healthcare services are provided through Dancing Bear Healing Center, HIPAA and applicable state regulations apply.
